日本語Sokoshira is a free service that lets you check the disaster risk of a location just by entering its address. Your current home, workplace, family home, or a place you're considering moving to — you can check any of them.

Being told "3m of flooding" doesn't tell you how to act. Alongside each assessment, Sokoshira shows the actions you should take at that location.
A moving candidate, your current home, your family home. Compare up to 4 locations side by side, hazard by hazard. Even within the same city, a riverside lot and a plateau can have completely different results.
Governments and municipalities publish disaster/hazard maps for free. But reading them requires getting used to map symbols and color coding, and it can be hard to quickly tell "is this place actually dangerous or not."
The data Sokoshira uses is the same official data published in government and municipal hazard maps. We remove the need to decode the map yourself — reassessing it for a single address on a 5-level S–D scale, and showing the actions to take.
Adding Sokoshira to your smartphone's home screen lets you open it straight from an icon. No app store install is needed, and there is no cost.
Searching for it after a disaster has already started is hard. Adding it now means you will not have to look for it when it matters.
Safari, Chrome and Edge all work the same way. Adding from a non-Safari browser requires iOS 16.4 (March 2023) or later; on older iPhones, use Safari.
A prompt saying "Install app" may also appear near the bottom of the screen. If it does, tapping it is enough.
The exact wording can differ slightly depending on your device and browser version.
If you added it earlier and the icon artwork looks wrong, remove it and add it again. iOS stores the icon on the device and will not update it on its own.
All of this is data published by public institutions. Sokoshira’s role is to re-present it in a form anyone can read.
Each hazard is shown on a 5-level scale. S is the most dangerous.

“D (Not Designated)” does not mean “safe.” It means the location is not within any published hazard area. A disaster exceeding published projections can always occur.
Sokoshira honestly discloses what it cannot do.
No registration is required, and we do not collect any personally identifying information. Searched addresses are used only to return the assessment, and are not stored on our servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Sokoshira is an independent, unofficial service run by a private design office. The assessment is reference information based on published "projected scenarios" and does not guarantee safety.
